Chilli Soya

Its been a while I prepared the Chilli soya. Today I was a bit lazy to cook the usual stuff for lunch. I thought of making something spicy and no masala stuff.....so I made the Chilli soya. This is a simple dry version with no deep frying of the soya dipped in any batter. I feel except the pre-preparation of soya, its just very quick and easy. Soya is favourite at home and as you all know its high protein food. My son just loved the chilli soya though it was spicy. He wasn't even allowing me to take the snaps, he was going on eating from the bowl :)

Ingredients:
2 cups Soya chunks
1 Onion chopped
1 Capsicum chopped
2 tsp Ginger-Garlic paste
3-4 Green chillies slit
2 tbsp Soya sauce
3-4 tbsp Tomato Chilli sauce (depending on how hot you need)
Pepper
Salt
Oil

Boil about 4 cups of water. When water starts boiling, add the soya chunks and a little salt. Mix well and let it cook for 5-10 minutes. Keep it aside for about 15-20 minutes. Drain the water and when cooled, squeeze out the water from the chunks, keep aside.

Heat some oil in a pan. Add the onions, green chillies and ginger-garlic paste. Saute until onion turns transparent. Now add the capsicum and saute until its half cooked. Add the soya chunks now. Stir fry for 4-5 minutes. The soya chunks will turn slight brown. Now add the sauces, sprinkle salt and pepper.Mix well, cover and cook for about 5 minutes so that soya absorbs the sauces.

Serve hot with any fried rice or chapathi.
