Mini Pizza Puffs

Puffs Pizza or Pizza Puffs??....i was so confused to name this dish, both the names sounds suitable i guess ;). As the name suggests its mini pizzas using the puff pastry sheet as the pizza base. The only time consuming step in this recipe is thawing the puff pastry sheet, rest is just simple like how you make a pizza. Add sauce, any toppings you like, you can also add chicken if you prefer non-veg pizza and finally add the cheese...then bake it...that's all !! You can enjoy these pizzas with a crunchy puffs base, a twist to the usual pizza. No need to say about kids rt..they will keep on asking more :).

What you need?

1 Puff Pastry sheet ( I have used Pepperidge farm brand)
Pizza Sauce or Tomato sauce
Veggies of your choice ( I have used Onions, Bell Pepper, Corn)
Cheese
Italian Seasoning
Red Chilli Flakes
Pepper
Salt

How to prepare?

Thaw the puff pastry sheet as per the packet directions.
Preheat the oven to 400F. Line a baking tray with aluminium foil, lightly grease it.

Once thawed, cut the pastry sheet into any shapes and sizes you desire. I have cut into squares here...each rectangular section into 3 squares.

Tip: It would be easy if you place these squares on the baking tray and then add the toppings. Since the pastry sheet becomes soft on thawing, it might be difficult to transfer them later to the tray after adding  veggies  and cheese.

Apply some pizza sauce on top of each squares. Put the veggies over the sauce.
Sprinkle some salt and pepper. Finally put some cheese on top.

Repeat the same for each. That's it..they are ready now to hop into the oven.

Bake for 10 to 15 minutes. All ovens vary, so keep an eye on the oven. You should bake until cheese melts and the base has browned.

Sprinkle some Italian seasoning and red chilli flakes before you serve. Isn't it that simple? Kids will surely enjoy it !!

Makes about 9 mini pizza puffs.
