Steamed egg cubes as Appetizer

Wishing all my blogger friends, a belated Happy Friendship day !! Thank you all for supporting and encouraging me all the time.

I always like to experiment with eggs. I had posted Steamed Egg Cube curry some time back. As I had mentioned then, these steamed egg cubes look just like paneer cubes. Its sure an interesting and delicious curry.

I was in search of some quick appetizer for my son's birthday party.I wanted to make something very quick, different and interesting. Finally I decided to make these steamed egg cubes as appetizer. I added lot of spices and made these egg cubes very tasty. I arranged them on a tray and inserted toothpicks in them. These cuties caught attention of all the friends who came for the party. All were very curious about what the appetizer was.None of them could guess what it was :) and everyone liked these cute little cubes.

This dish is something which we can make so quick, just mix everything and steam. It makes a different and interesting appetizer for parties. You can even make these as snack for kids. They might like the eggs in a new  form.I tried frying these egg cubes too, that too tasted great. So please do try these for sure, make your kids or guests appreciate you ;)

What you need?

3 Eggs
1/4 cup chopped Onion (optional)
1/2 tsp Chilli powder
1/4 tsp Garam masala
1/4 tsp Coriander powder
1/4 tsp Chaat Masala
1/4 tsp Pepper powder
Salt
few Coriander leaves finely chopped

How to prepare?

Beat well the eggs with rest of the ingredients except coriander leaves. Make sure there are no lumps of any spices in the egg mixture. Finally add the coriander leaves and mix well.

Now take a vessel and coat with oil on all sides. Pour the egg mixture into this. Close this vessel with a lid and place it in the pressure cooker.Pressure cook for about 15 minutes without putting the weight on the top.
(When the steam started coming out, I kept it on medium heat. After 15 minutes, put a spoon and see if it comes out clean. Be careful while opening the cooker).

Once slightly cooled, cut the steamed egg into cubes. If you desire, shallow fry these cubes on all sides. They taste good without frying too. I like both the versions. (In the picture, egg cubes are not the fried version). For parties, you can arrange these egg cubes on a tray, insert toothpick in them and serve. It makes a wonderful appetizer.

Serves 2-3

Notes:
* For the picture shown here, I had used 6 eggs. I just doubled the quantity of spices.
* Feel free to add in any other spices you like. Increase or decrease the quantity as per your taste.
* You can serve egg cubes with or without frying. Both versions taste good.
